Board of Directors
As a public charter school, Maureen Joy Charter School functions under a regulatory framework distinct from that of traditional public schools. Our governance is vested in an independent, non-profit Board of Directors. This unique governance model affords us considerable flexibility and autonomy, enabling the institution to implement specialized rules and management practices tailored to our educational objectives.
All Board Meetings are open to the public and take place at the school from 6:30-8:30 PM on the second Monday of every month, unless otherwise noted. Please sign up 24 hours in advance if you would like to be included in the public comments section of the meeting. Board Meeting Details
All Board of Directors meetings are Regular Business meetings held virtually at this link: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/84658486349 unless noted otherwise below.
Each meeting starts at 6:30 p.m. unless otherwise noted.
Regular meetings are held monthly except in July and December unless a meeting is deemed necessary.
The annual meeting, typically held for electing directors and transacting normal business, is scheduled for August and June.
The Board will inform the public about the meetings using any feasible means of communication as permitted by law and consistent with North Carolina’s Open Meeting laws.
