Health and Wellness at Maureen Joy Charter School

At Maureen Joy Charter School, we believe that healthy students are better learners. Our Health and Wellness Program is dedicated to supporting the physical, emotional, and social well-being of every child. We strive to create a school environment that fosters healthy habits, promotes safety, and cultivates lifelong wellness.

Students learn about nutrition, personal hygiene, emotional health, and making positive lifestyle choices that contribute to overall well-being. Through interactive lessons and discussions, we empower students to understand their bodies, make informed decisions, and develop skills for maintaining balance in their daily lives.

Our commitment to student health extends beyond the classroom; we partner with families to ensure each child feels supported, cared for, and ready to thrive both in school and at home.

School Nurse Services

Maureen Joy Charter School is proud to have a dedicated on-site nurse who supports the health and well-being of all students. Our school nurse provides daily care, health education, and emergency support to ensure students are safe, healthy, and ready to learn.

The nurse manages medications, assists students with chronic health needs, and responds to injuries or illnesses that occur during the school day. In addition to direct care, the nurse plays a crucial role in promoting healthy habits, preventing the spread of illness, and collaborating with families to support each child’s unique health needs.

At Maureen Joy, we recognize that a healthy student is a successful student. Our on-site nurse helps create a caring, responsive environment where students can focus on learning and growing with confidence.

For Families

Parents and guardians should contact the school nurse if their child has a medical condition, requires medication during the school day, or experiences a change in health status. Health forms and medication authorization forms can be submitted directly to the nurse’s office or emailed securely to the school’s health inbox. Keeping this information up to date helps us ensure that every child receives the care and support they need while at school.
